The 11th edition of SITTF brought together global experts, government leaders, and industry professionals to discuss the future of tourism under the theme “The Future of Tourism in the Fields of Digitization, Health & Safety.” The forum explored how innovation, data, and technology can enhance the tourism experience, promote resilience, and support sustainable growth. Through insightful sessions and collaborations, SITTF 2024 reinforced Sharjah’s position as a leading platform for dialogue, innovation, and partnerships shaping the region’s tourism future.
Sustainable Tourism: The Way to Improvement
The 10th edition of the Sharjah International Travel and Tourism Forum (SITTF) was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, and inaugurated by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. Organized by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), the forum explored “Sustainable Tourism: The Way to Improvement”, focusing on innovation, environmental responsibility, and collaboration as key drivers of the future of travel. With distinguished speakers from government and international organizations, SITTF 2023 emphasized Sharjah’s commitment to sustainability through discussions, workshops, and an accompanying exhibition that showcased initiatives in eco-tourism, renewable energy, and community-based tourism.

The objectives of this edition were: deliberate on the role of technologies in the development and sustainability of the tourism sector, building a sustainable future for the travel and tourism profession, explore best practices and innovative solutions, and bolstering a culture of originality and sustainability in tourism
Smart Tourism And Global Challenges
In this year's edition. e forum discussed a number of key factors impacting the tourism sector globally, regionally and locally. In addition, it highlighted the key innovations in tourism. e forum aims at developing the knowledge tools of tourism sector stakeholders by facilitating an exchange of knowledge from international experiences, enabling them to keep up with the trends of the competitive markets.
Sharjah Tourism Market in Light of Current Challenges
We aimed for a variety of objectives, many dictated by these unusual global circumstances: bringing together a number of experts and specialists to discuss the various aspects of the sector, offering valuable sessions on current conditions and their impact on tourism activity, travel and aviation, future prospects for hospitality companies, the benefits of the COVID19- pandemic on the tourism sector’s operations, such as digital transformation and remote work, domestic tourism and initiatives launched by the UAE’s wise leadership and the Emirate of Sharjah to support the tourism, hospitality and travel sector.
